There have been many break-ups of the couples who met during the 12 previous seasons of ABC’s “The Bachelor” and four seasons of “The Bachelorette.” But until Monday night, none of the couples broke up while the show was actually airing.
Jason Mesnick, the single dad whose heart was broken by DeAnna Pappas at the end of “The Bachelorette 4,” broke two hearts, not counting viewers who are dismayed by the way he chose Melissa only to dump her during the “After the Final Rose” special and pick Molly, who he’d rejected earlier.
Chris Harrison promised us the most dramatic rose ceremony yet and boy he delivered!!! Allthough sad for Melissa, she really just wanted to win and she likes bad boys so this dude with a son probably wasn’t the best match. Yeah, she was good with Ty but that’s because she is a big kid herself. Not to mention she enlisted her 2 married friends to play hosts to Jason for the hometown date. How close could she really be with her “married friends” if they have never met her parents??? I just thought she was to immature to be a make-shift Mom.
Molly: I felt like Molly’s interactions were genuine, she didn’t throw her emotions immediately into the show and the bachelor. I think it is realistic to have a defense mechanism in a situation like that. I am glad she didn’t act as obsessed as the other girls from the get go.
Conclusion: In a world where unicorns roam free and everyone looks their absolute best everyday, Jason and Molly might work this out. But unicorns aren’t roaming free and I look like junk this morning, so we all know in about a month we will get the sad news that once again a Bachelor couple broke up.
